Well we decided that we would take a day off form riding today since we had a lot of driving to do. In its place, we decided to visit the medieval city of Carcassonne.

Carcassonne was a really neat place and it was fun to walk around a see all the architecture and thnk about what it might have been like to live back in those times.

Before we left, Tom decided he wanted something to eat. What resulted was purchase of the famous Blueberry Flan.

After leaving Carcassonne, we went to Agde and spent a few minutes at the beach. The Mediterranean was quite nice. Tom and Paul took a quick swim and I hung out on the beach sightseeing. Then we traveled along the coast visiting some of the fishing villages along the shore.

Here's a bunch of pictures of the town of Agde. Very interesting place on the Mediterranean.

Eventually, we ended up back where we started in NIMES at the Best Western.  We retrieved our bike boxes and packed the Vans for the drive to the Giant of Provennce, Mountt Ventoux. Then we went into NIMES to eat diner. Since we enjoyed the pizza from the first night so well, we returned and had it again.
